Let Our Witness For Jesus Christ Be True

Standing for ChristI feel as Bereans it should always be our sincere desire to have biblical based discernment in KNOWING truth from error. In fact it’s our duty as followers of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to warn others who are being deceived with false doctrine that contradicts the Word of God. Time is short. Let us not  mince words only to remain friends OF the world. We must risk EVERYTHING to follow Christ.

I think of this so often when I witness to Roman Catholics.

A question I like to pose to them is this….”If suddenly, as a friend, I announced to you that I’d converted to Mormonism or became a Jehovah Witness what would your reaction be?

Many of our dear Roman Catholic family and friends have no problem agreeing that the Church Of Latter Day Saints (Mormonism) as well as the teachings found in the Jehovah Witness cult are undeniably FALSE and even quick to point out both present a false Jesus and false Gospel.

But let me take this a step further. Obviously both have bible versions  and “extra books” much like the Catechism of the RCC in adding their own manmade doctrines / commandment of men. And yet both religions state “A” Christ, but what Jesus is it? Is this the very same Jesus recorded in Scripture or an imposter?

Secondly, what if they refused to talk to you about it, calling you both intolerant and too judgmental? Perhaps they start to avoid your phone calls, hang up on you every time you try to bring it up or avoid visiting you altogether….even when you only wish to present biblical evidence with the Word of God to counteract those false teachings?

How would that same Roman Catholic handle the scenario mentioned above? Knowing their friend was being taken in by the teachings of Mormonism or Jehovah Witnesses, adding to their defense of it… “well no religion is perfect anyhow“.

How might it make you feel? Wouldn’t you still have a burden for that person out of concern? Wouldn’t you have an urgency in leading them to the TRUTH and out of  those false religion systems? Wouldn’t your whole motive in trying to point them to the truth and EXPOSE that error to them with the Word of God, be done because you DO love them and DO care about them, even if they ended up rejecting you?  Isn’t this what Jesus commanded us to do?

Jesus Christ warned us of this coming deception in the last days over and over! But why is NO ONE listening? It often times feels as if we are living in the days of Noah.

Yet it’s enormously troubling because so many within the RCC don’t recognize this SAME deception is also spreading like wildfire in their own religion.

So where, as biblical Christians, do we DRAW THE LINE when witnessing to those who are trapped in ANY false religion? Do we just keep silent and not warn people? Yet how loving is it to remain silent and NOT tell someone the truth? Why is truth so hard for people to swallow? Why is PRIDE in a religion seem to always be the #1 factor in rejecting that TRUTH?

I want to be honest here because I too needed to come to this point as a former Roman Catholic, now ex-Catholic. In all seriousness, who really wants to admit after decades of being a RC, they could have possibly been led astray?  But shouldn’t we instead be PRAISING GOD for giving us the courage to come out of it and OPENING our eyes to the deception?

As Christians, what if we all decided to take the easy way out? NEVER warning anyone about the deception infiltrating the church just to avoid being persecuted / labeled judgmental? Should we simply remain “neutral” and “tolerant” so as not to risk losing the love of  family and friends?

Matthew 19:29 (KJV) 29And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

Matthew 10:37-39 (KJV)  37He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.  38And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.  39He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

We need to remember that Jesus was neither tolerant of false teachings or false religions. And neither was the God of the Old Testament (0ne in the same), tolerant. A good study of the Old Testament will reveal that in a hurry as well as the Book of Revelation.

WOW..all I can say is we better fear God as much as we love Him because HIS judgment is forever. And after death IS that judgment. We don’t get a second chance… I don’t care how much we’d like to believe otherwise. God’s Word says it isn’t so. Hebrews 9:27 (KJV)

Just because one is afraid to accept biblical truths in the Bible because it contradicts their own religion’s stance, doesn’t make the truth any less the TRUTH.

My prayer is that people who blindly embrace these false religions (of which there are many), will take the time to open up a Bible for themselves and view the Word of God through Biblical eyes instead of their religion, so they can witness the deception firsthand.

However if one is not OPEN to that truth, the Holy Spirit will not force it upon them.

Let it be known, we warn people of deception out of LOVE. It is Satan impressing on those who see it as otherwise, in favor of their religion. Consider for a moment if your house just caught on fire. Most people would want to warned about it right away! The person who told them would be thanked over and over again for warning them ahead of time. Why then does this same principle not resonate with us today, for a decision that will have dire consequences for an ETERNITY?

Those who belong to any false religion need to recognize it’s not the Christian warning them of this deception that’s the PROBLEM. Their stumbling block is in letting go and reading the Word of God for themselves and allowing it to correct them biblically. We need to understand  the “Good Book” written didn’t only apply to a few select people. It applies to all of us to this day…… not just those who walked on this earth 2000+ years ago.

I find that many Roman Catholics have been conditioned by their religion to view anyone who rebukes the RCC teachings biblically, as an attack on them personally. Again the conflict /argument is not with those of us who, out of love, simply want to share that truth with them. Their problem is rather with the Word of God in trying to still defend what their false religion teaches, even when it obviously goes against the Gospel.

And yet who are we to trust? How many times does a false religious system have to lie to them, before they come to the conclusion it IS a false gospel?  There comes a day in which we much decide if we defend our religion OR defend the Word of God. My fear is for those who continue to hide behind the “your judging me” defense is that they may never come to the truth by not allowing the Holy Spirit to lead them out.

Titus 1:13-16 (KJV) 13This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;  14Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.   15Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.  16They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

Sadly the RCC is just one of many religions that has departed from the faith. It preaches not only a different Jesus but a different Gospel. And until His  triumphant return we must do as the Lord himself asks in rebuking and warning  those trapped in such apostate religions who preach just that. We must have the desire to share the Good News that FREES those from the bondage of any false religion…. even in light of persecution. John 15:18–19 (KJV)

Leading people away from an apostate church IS out of love. There is no other motive. It’s certainly not to puff ourselves up as being wiser before men.  We were all lost at some point in our lives…let us remember this sobering fact. And it is only by the GRACE of God, His free gift, that we are now saved.

In the end there are only TWO choices to make. Travel down the wide path that leads to destruction OR the narrow path that leads to salvation. And Jesus said FEW will even find that narrow path. Be sure you stay on the narrow path.  Matthew 7:13-14 (KJV)

God still wants us to be the seed sowers. Not every seed planted will grow of course but let us continue to pray that the Holy Spirit works on the hearts of those who are caught up in this deception. And while it is everyone’s choice……..He forces no one.  God Bless.
